Four Bedrooms, A Stable, and the Nome Experience
Situated in the heart of Nome, Alaska, Golden Sands Stables & Lodging provides easy access to the best that Nome has to offer. We are within walking distance of grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, gas stations, downtown Nome, and more. Our location is also an ideal spot for Iditarod visitors as we are both close to downtown and the end of the race, as well as near a siren so you know when the mushers are racing in - which gives guests plenty of time to put their gear on and see the mushers arrive! Additionally, we will soon offer horseback riding opportunities and are proud to be the westernmost equestrian center in the country. This region is known for its rich culture, rare birds, and beautiful scenery, and we look forward to having you stay with us.
Affectionately nicknamed Carol’s Place, this home was purchased from Carol Piscoya, a well-respected regional elder who raised her large family and dozens of foster children in this residence. We honor her and want to provide lodging for the region and visitors in a way that would make her proud.
